Cross Training: Cross Training is a style of athletic cross training in a variety of activities to improve overall performance. Cross Training is made up of two groups - Intro and Main. The Cross Training Intro Program is a repeating one-month course designed to prepare new members to join the Cross Training Group. Graduates of the Cross Training Intro Program will be prepared to complete the more intense workouts of the Cross Training Main group safely and effectively.

This program focuses on the fundamental techniques and functional movements that are the foundation to athletic cross training. Movements such as the deadlift (picking up heavy object from the ground), squat (think sitting/standing from a chair), and shoulder press (storing a box on a high shelf) are tools everyone uses in their everyday life. From breathing exercises or group stretching to intense body-weight workouts, we hope to introduce and impart these tools to enhance your life.

Cross Training Intro Program begins on the first Monday or Wednesday of each month (whichever comes first) and is held 12 times a year. Completion of the one-month, eight-workout Cross Training Intro Program is a prerequisite to joining the Cross Training Main Group. During the Cross Training Intro Program, athletes will progress through eight workouts with Cross Training Trainers. Athletes will get an idea of the intensity of the Cross Training Main Group workouts, gauge their athleticism, learn and/or improve fundamental techniques, correct bad movements/habits, and build self-confidence. Cross Training Intro Program athletes may makeup missed workouts on Fridays during the Cross Training Main group workout.

If you are interested in learning more about the Cross Training Intro Program or Cross Training Main Group please come join us at any of the workouts on the calendar. We would love to meet you and show you what our programs include. New athletes who join us after the beginning of each monthly Cross Training Intro Program start are welcome to workout with the Cross Training Main group using a scaled-down version of the workout of the day (WOD). Our Trainers are ready to help. Check it out and and come on back to join us at the beginning of the next month with the next Cross Training Intro Program cohort.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga Level 2/3
Fridays 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm
Sloane Gerritzen Photo

About Sloane:

“Your sacred space is where you can find yourself over and over again.” - Joseph Campbell Seattle-born, everywhere-raised, I am a living testimony of Yoga as medicine. I believe that nobody is broken or weak. At the brink of what I refer to as my quarter life crisis, I met Yoga. My mat became my cure from years of looking for answers and remedies in all the wrong places. After only a few yoga classes, it clicked—I knew it was my purpose to share this medicine with as many others as I can. Years later, again and again, I return to my mat and rediscover Truth. With backgrounds in education, psychology, and dance, my classes are rhythmic, accessible, and as playful as they are deep. I love guiding my students on their unique healing journeys through classes that are strong and sweaty, slow and soft, and everything in between. However we choose to move on our mats, the effects are always transformative medicine. This is why I keep coming back, and why I am here to help you do the same.We are all inherently brave, strong, and whole! When I am not studying Yoga, I am on the hunt for empty beaches or dense forests. I am a firm believer in exploring every corner of our earth, feeling everything, loving more, and including peanut butter in all meals. Wine and chocolate can come, too. Class Description: Step on your mat to remember what matters: experiencing deep, conscious breath. We utilize the physical yoga practice to unlock our own keys to living life off of the mat with depth, humility, and confidence. You will experience a musically-enhanced flow that is well-rounded with Sun Salutations and postures that are grounding, balancing, and heart-opening. Breath work is infused throughout, with a weekly theme to offer direct implementation of on-the-mat wisdom to off-the-mat journeys. Recreate what you thought your potential was, heal through your own abilities, and tend to yourself so that you can tend to the world.

Alexandra Tomkins Photo

About Alex:

Alex became a Hatha and Vinyasa trained yoga teacher in February of 2016. Born and bred in the UK, she moved to New York City in Sept 2013 to study Acting. It was during this time that she discovered yoga. Fuelled by her search for spirituality and unsure whether acting was the right path, she left New York and decided to embark on a solo backpacking trip, which lasted 8 months before she decided to settle in the Bay for a while. Alex’s teaching is heavily influenced by her travels, the arts and her experience with emotional unrest, putting great emphasis on the importance of mindfulness, compassion and staying free of judgment during your practice. Her approach to alignment is informed by her background in gymnastics, dance and theatre, believing that if it doesn’t feel good, we can simply find another way to target the same benefits. Alex invites you to come to your mat to find presence, creativity and stillness.

Saturdayss 11:30am - 1:00pm
Rachel Wolin Photo

About Rachel Wolin:

Rachel started her adventure into yoga in 2013 after a rough breakup. She decided to try yoga with hopes that it would cure a physical stagnation and an inability to eat that she found taking over her body. Yoga did all that and more. For Rachel, yoga became a way to silence her mind momentarily, sleep more soundly, and make healthier decisions in all aspects of her life. Rachel found that the good sweat that comes with Power Yoga is a way for her to shed an old self and let a newer, more grounded self be born every time she unrolls her mat. As time passed, Rachel realized her passion for the moving meditation. She loves the challenge of breath work, physical postures, and learning to remain present even when her mind is racing a million miles a minute. After completing her 200 hour yoga certification in the summer of 2015, Rachel has taken additional trainings in advanced Power Yoga and Hot Power styles, and since discovered a blossoming passion for human anatomy. Rachel hopes that her students leave class feeling more aware of their body and refreshed.
